Teaching
Experience:
Anna
has over twelve years of experience teaching students
from age 3-adult both violin and viola. From 2002-2005,
she taught and managed a private studio that averaged
45 violin and viola students in her hometown of Bozeman,
MT. She has received extensive training in violin and
viola pedagogy through the Oberlin Supervised Student
Teacher Program and the Oberlin Pedagogy curriculum. More
recently, she had the privilege to study violin pedagogy
with Mimi Zweig and Brenda Brenner through their pedagogy
program conducted in conjunction with the Indiana University
String Academy, one of the finest programs in the country
for the training of young violinists. Her work in the
IU String Academy included completion of the pedagogy
curriculum, extensive lesson and class observations and
service as a teaching assistant to the IU String Academy
faculty. Anna's comprehensive approach to teaching includes
work in technique, repertoire, theory and general musicianship,
all within the context of a supportive, fun environment
that addresses and adjusts to the unique needs of each
student as an individual. She is versed in both Suzuki
and traditional teaching styles.
