Education:

Kristi Bartleson began teaching private harp lessons in 1990, after graduating from the Eastman School of Music, in Rochester, New York. She received her bachelors' degree with honors, from Eastman in harp performance, and music education. Her training included early childhood education, student choice-centered learning techniques and elementary classroom methods. Over the last 20 years, she has taught both private harp students and harp ensembles, as well as taught in the junior music schools of several communities in Switzerland.

Teaching Experience:

Kristi's background and education give her full knowledge of the importance of proper technique and practice. Her main goal in her teaching, however, is for the joy of music, and enjoyment of playing a musical instrument solo, as well as with others. She has an individual approach, looking for the needs and desires of the student to guide the pace, and repertoire of the lessons. Kristi brings in not only harp playing, but music theory, playing in a group, and creating your own music.

Students may begin lessons as early as 1st grade, and adult beginners are welcome as well. Lessons may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and may be weekly or every other week.

Kristi currently teaches harp in Nederland, as well as in Boulder.
