Teaching Experience:

Andrew is very comfortable teaching Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Horn from beginning to advanced. He is also trained in Kodaly and Orff methods for children's music education. He has worked with beginning and high school students and has given instruction to collegiate trombonists in preparation of juries, recitals, proficiencies, and other supplemental instruction. He works closely with Denver educator Joe Anderies, the current president of the Colorado chapter of IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators). In July '05 Andrew participated as a jazz mentor for a demonstration sponsored by IAJE in Colorado Springs. He also tutors jazz theory, improvisation, and classical theory. When teaching a student Andrew likes to create a comfortable and fun learning atmosphere; and also incorporates breathing exercise, singing, ear training, games, mimicry, and improvisation.
